My mentor used to say there are five types of businesses online.

The next is a list building business. Think about the affiliate business. You put a lot of time and money into getting someone to your website so that they click on your affiliate link... but if they don't buy, they're gone forever. They probably won't find your site again.

List building ensures that your marketing efforts result in a higher return on investment. If Sally didn't buy the weight loss product you sent her to, but you did get her email, you can email her tomorrow, and she might buy a different weight loss product.

Same goes for any niche.

The only thing above a list builder is a product owner. But even when you have a product, you build a list of your paying members. This is probably the most powerful list you can own.
